Message from ULI BC Management Chair

As Chair of the ULI BC Management Committee and on behalf of all ULI BC members, I want to welcome our many friends from the United States and those from around the world who have travelled to Vancouver for the ULI 2014 Spring Meeting.  Welcome to beautiful British Columbia, Canada!  This is the first ULI Spring or Fall Meeting held outside of the United States and we are very excited to host over 3,000 ULI members who have registered to attend the Spring Meeting.  ULI’s mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities.  We look forward to sharing with you what we consider to be some of our greatest accomplishments to create our Vancouver community, but to also be honest and receive your good counsel and the benefit of your experience with respect to some of our mistakes and ongoing challenges.

The ULI Spring Meeting is a phenomenal environment to share ideas and experiences.  I encourage you to take full advantage of that environment and meet some new friends.  The Spring Meeting is purposely designed to provide ULI members with current industry information and trends as well as expert insight on best industry practices delivered in a practical format.  The intent is there will be take-aways from the Spring Meeting that will assist you on your first day back in the office after the Spring Meeting.  Please let ULI know what your key take-aways were from the 2014 Spring Meeting.  Whether it is taking in the liveability of downtown Vancouver and the natural beauty of Stanley Park; the transformative development of Surrey, one of the fastest growing cities in North America; or experiencing the magic of Whistler, one of the premiere recreational resort destinations in the world, we hope you enjoy your time at the Spring Meeting.  Thank you for making the journey to Vancouver, Canada and we are honoured to be your hosts.

David Martin, ULI BC Management Chair
