Selina Robinson, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, announced that effective Wednesday, August 14, 2019, online versions of the BC Building, Plumbing and Fire Codes are available free of charge. The free BC Codes are available now at: www.bcpublications.ca.

She states that our Government is committed to making life more affordable for British Columbians and delivering the services that people count on. Eliminating the cost to access the BC Building Code is an important step towards improving affordability in the construction sector and removing barriers to students, industry professionals, and local governments who are working hard each day to build safe, functional, and sustainable buildings.

This is a significant milestone for construction in British Columbia and is made possible by the collaboration of Ministry staff at the Building and Safety Standards Branch, Queen’s Printer with the Ministry of Citizens’ Services, and the National Research Council of Canada.
