Technical Bulletin 18-02 – Miscellaneous Revisions to the 2012 BC Building Code

This Bulletin describes miscellaneous changes to the BCBC that came into effect on January 31, 2018 that were not described in Bulletin B18-01. Key changes include: Removal of a relaxation for guards in Part 9 dwelling units that are not above another suite. Permitting passive ventilation for secondary suites in buildings designed to comply with the BC Energy Step Code. Revision 12 of the BC Building Code Takes Effect January 31, 2018

BC Building Code Users: The Honourable Selina Robinson, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, has approved changes to the 2012 BC Building Code effective January 31, 2018. These changes constitute Revision 12 of the 2012 BC Building Code and are available online.  The changes concern Letters of Assurance and a number of other Code revisions. MLA Canada has released its annual Market Intel real estate report, a review of the outgoing year, current market conditions and a forecast for 2018. The project marketing company anticipates steady supply and slower price growth in 2018 for pre-sale developments. Case Study Results: Electrical Submetering Boosts Sustainability

We all know that shifting to user-pay model moves the needle, but exactly how much? When it comes to submetering, the sustainability gains may surprise you.
