My Time in Politics:
The power of local governments to shape the region, province, and country
The 2018 October Elections will result in a major change in city governments across Metro Vancouver. Dozens of Mayors and City Councillors who have previously served numerous terms in office have announced they will no longer be seeking re-election. All of these public servants have given countless hours to their communities, participating in an era of major urban change across the region.
On Friday, September 7th, ULI BC is pleased to host a dynamic panel with three of the longest-serving elected officials in the region: Craig Keating, City of North Vancouver Councillor and President of the BC NDP, Raymond Louie, Acting Mayor and Vancouver Councillor, and former President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities; and Greg Moore, Mayor of Port Coquitlam and Chair of Metro Vancouver.
Join us for an exciting conversation where we will hear from each of them about their experiences in local government and beyond, but also learn about what they think will be the defining issues for Metro Vancouver, and what advice they have for those who are seeking to become newly elected.
