A registered architect, Leo offers vast knowledge of post-secondary design and planning. He is collaborative by nature, and a strong designer, master planner, space planner, and programmer. Léo’s four years of experience working at the University of Alberta’s Office of the University Architect reinforces his understanding of our clients' viewpoints and facility requirements, and his easy style of communication lends itself to bringing out the best in each team member. Léo’s portfolio encompasses work for students in kindergarten through college. His plans and designs can be found in the Crowsnest Consolidated High School Modernization in Alberta; University of Alberta’s South Campus Plan; MacEwan’s Single Sustainable Campus Plan; and NAIT’s Centre for Applied Technologies. Other notable design projects include Stantec’s Calgary office, and the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.

KaaSheGaaBaaWeak | Eladia Smoke is Anishinaabekwe from Obishikokaang | Lac Seul First Nation, with family roots in Alderville First Nation, Winnipeg, and Toronto. Eladia has worked in architecture since 2002, founded Smoke Architecture as principal architect in 2014, teaches as a Master Lecturer at Laurentian’s McEwen School of Architecture, and serves as a founding member of RAIC’s Indigenous Task Force. Current professional work includes community-based and institutional projects working alongside Indigenous stakeholders and collaborating with First Nation communities.

As President and Chief Executive Officer of Vancity, Canada's largest community credit union, Christine believes that banking plays a vital role in developing a healthy society—building the wellbeing of people and, at the same time, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the communities in which they live and work. Prior to becoming CEO, Christine held several senior leadership roles within Vancity, most recently serving as Vancity’s Chief Member Services Officer, leading the Member Experience & Community Engagement division. In this role, Christine oversaw services to Vancity’s over half a million members, including its branch network and retail, business, commercial and wealth management operations. She also led the credit union’s community impact and investment strategies. Christine’s achievements in fostering community impact, social justice and environmental sustainability have earned her accolades from Business in Vancouver magazine, which included her in its 2007 “Top 40 Under 40” list. In 2012, the Association of Women in Finance gave her the Rising Star award, and in 2017 Clean50 awards recognized her for her dedication to sustainability. Prior to joining Vancity, Christine’s career involved working in early stage venture capital, public markets and broadly with entrepreneurs; financing innovative companies and building financial firms – all focused within the cleantech, sustainability and impact investing sectors. Christine chairs the board of the Women’s Enterprise Centre, is a board member of Aviso Wealth, and is on the Board of Governors for the BC Business Council. Christine also represents North America on the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative’s Banking Board. Christine pursued post-secondary education at the University of Guelph and UBC, earning a B.A. in sociology and MBA in Strategic Management. In her free time, Christine enjoys exploring all Vancouver has to offer with her family and especially enjoys running, hiking, skiing and cycling. She is passionate about education, democracy, social trends and empowering people to be the best they can be.

Amy Erixon is an industry expert in cross border investing, real estate technology, greening strategies and smart cities. She founded and leads Avison Young’s Global Investment Management practice, which is active across all major and select speciality property types in North America and Europe. Prior to joining Avison Young, she was CEO of IGRI, a full-service development and investment firm that built the first LEED-certified projects across Canada in the mid 2000s. With more than 35 years of industry experience, she has acquired, developed and repositioned portfolios valued in excess of $9 billion, and completed large-scale rezoning and development projects in numerous North American cities. Amy Erixon serves as an educational counsellor for MIT and sits on the Ontario Board of the Nature Conservancy of Canada.  She is a member of Avison Young’s Executive Committee. From 2016-2018, Lisa was B+H’s Regional Managing Principal, Americas. Lisa is a 360-champion defining gender parity, diversity, and inclusion as critical components to achieve global sustainability and resiliency across the real estate and land-use sector.
