    The COVID-19 pandemic has caused tremendous hardship around the world. Recognizing early on there would be a significant economic impact on all sectors in the City of North Vancouver, Mayor Linda Buchanan convened an economic recovery task force to develop a plan. The recommendations that came out of the roundtables, surveys, and interviews made clear that the pandemic is an opportunity that can be leveraged to create long lasting, positive change for businesses and the community at-large. Municipalities, businesses, the public service, and residents must now work together, not just to mitigate the current effects of the pandemic, but to build a better future.
     
    Join Mayor Buchanan, along with our Moderator, Duncan Wlodarczak, Chief of Staff with Onni Group and ULI BC Vice-Chair, to hear how leadership at the local level can transform hardships into new economic opportunities and build business resiliency.

    Linda Buchanan is Mayor, City of North Vancouver and Vice-Chair, Metro Vancouver Regional District. She is the principle author of the North Shore Child and Family Friendly Charter and championed the Child, Youth and Family Municipal Strategy and the Dementia Friendly Action. Linda is a strong supporter of improving the quality of living for residents focusing on programs and services, public spaces, arts and culture, and infrastructure that reflect a people place. She is a champion for an inclusive and healthy community with a vision to make the City of North Vancouver ‘The Healthiest Small City in the World'.
