WLI BC's Leadership Certificate – Industrial Lands

Learn the latest about the ongoing implementation of the Metro Vancouver Regional Industrial Lands Strategy, the City of Vancouver’s evolving industrial and employment policies, and examples of new multi-level building designs.

We’ll discuss defining and implementing urban industrial in the modern age. There are lessons from what’s happening, and also from what’s not happening, and reasons why.

Profiling new buildings and exploring future concepts from within the region and beyond – both challenges and opportunities. Given the longstanding shortage of industrial lands in the region and strong demand for industrial space, how can planning goals and development objectives be integrated and advanced through innovative building designs and to meet the needs of urban industrial tenants.

    Hear from the following experts:

    • Michelle Sotomayor (Conwest Developments) who has been involved in a number of urban, high density industrial / employment projects in the region.
    • Eric Aderneck (Metro Vancouver) who leads the regional industrial lands portfolio.
    • Matthew Bourke (City of Vancouver) who leads the city’s employment and industrial lands policy program.
    • Craig Taylor (TKA+D Architecture + Design Inc) who has designed numerous multi-level and multi-use complex projects for developers in the region.
