    Sheryl Peters, an impactful team leader and the Provincial Director of Redevelopment at BC Housing will be sharing her diverse career path that has taken her from private to public sectors, in disciplines such as design, marketing, development and construction management in the last 20+ years. In this intimate lunch-hour session we will talk about Sheryl’s career path and the lessons she has to share as a high-achieving professional and a woman in the industry. There will be an opportunity for a Q&A and dialogue around career progression.
     
    We are delighted to have our WLI BC Committee Member, Melanie Wilson, Project Manager with Hemmera, moderate the discussion with Sheryl.

    Sheryl Peters

    Provincial Director, Redevelopment | Development & Asset Strategies, BC Housing

    Sheryl joined BC Housing in 2009, with a portfolio that included partnerships with other senior government agencies, municipalities and non-profit housing providers in the delivery of affordable housing solutions in the province. Sheryl is a certified Project Management Professional with academics in urban geography (UBC) and architectural and building technologies (BCIT). Her career portfolio is a diverse range of projects that includes multi-residential developments; master planned / mixed use communities; hotels; neighbourhood shopping centres; and regional retail centres. As Provincial Director – Redevelopment, Sheryl manages the revitalization of aging BC Housing assets with the intention of modernizing sites to meet current housing demands and bringing forward best practices in sustainable design, engineering & construction. In her spare time Sheryl enjoys interacting with public on all things real estate. Sheryl is passionate about facilitating affordable housing options and creating vibrant, complete & inclusive communities in BC.

    Melanie Wilson

    Project Manager, Hemmera

    Melanie Wilson is a project manager at Hemmera Envirochem specializing in the investigation, remediation and risk assessment of contaminated sites. She has experience consulting on a wide range of environmental projects across Canada including oceanfront developments, infrastructure projects, airport properties, commercial harbours, current and former industrial facilities and a variety of smaller urban Sites. As a member of the WLI committee she enjoys creating opportunities for women to network and learn from one another.
