ULI BC and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) have partnered on a new housing affordability initiative aimed at bringing together housing providers, land owners, developers, and other experts to seek out opportunities to create more affordable housing options in Metro Vancouver.
ULI BC’s Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs). With this partnership, we will compile a panel of ULI BC members to work on behalf of a not-for-profit housing operator in a 1-2 day workshop and conclude with a formal report of its findings, thoughts and recommendations. Learn more about ULI BC’s TAPs program and its reports by visiting our webpage here.
Events within this series include:
Technical Assistance Panels – The panels, made up of select ULI BC Members, and guests are forums to discuss how property owners, such as non-profit organizations, can unlock the potential of their land which can lead to increased affordable housing supply. CMHC will sponsor one or two day sessions on the renewal or development of existing low-income housing sites.
Roundtable Dialogues – ULI BC will host Roundtable Dialogues in several Metro Vancouver municipalities. These invitation-only events will bring together key stakeholders including elected officials, senior urban planning and housing officials, local low-income housing non-profit groups, with CMHC and select ULI BC members providing insight and leading discussions on the expansion, redevelopment or renewal of existing affordable housing assets.
Affordable Housing Discussions – a new event series open to all ULI BC members and the public, including keynote speaker luncheons, panel discussions, and breakfast brainstorming sessions focused on issues related to housing affordability in Metro Vancouver.
