The ULI Etkin Scholars Program, made possible by the philanthropic support of Bruce Etkin, introduces college and university students to the resources available through ULI membership and seeks to integrate those students into the ULI path of learning. Through this program, ULI District Councils will identify a cohort of students and provide the students with a welcoming and concrete entrée into ULI knowledge at the local and national level with funding support, free ULI student membership, creative programming, networking, and learning opportunities throughout the academic year of their scholarship. The students supported through this program shall be recognized as Etkin Scholars.
Bruce Etkin, of Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners, is a ULI Trustee and member of the ULI Foundation board. This generous gift continues Mr. Etkin’s support and passion for the next generation of real estate leaders through ULI’s educational programming. Mr. Etkin is a member of the James Rouse Society.
ULI BC is delighted to take part for it’s 4th year along with other District Councils across the ULI Americas Region. The 2024-25 school year application is now open (see information below). Download the ULI Etkin Scholars Program here.
To engage college students through mentorship, education and networking with leading ULI members, exposing scholars to key BC real estate and land use leaders.
The ULI Etkin Scholars program was designed to improve students’ understanding of the professional roles and disciplines that contribute to best practice and innovation in real estate and land use globally.
To be eligible to participate in the Program, Etkin Scholars must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at a college or university, ideally (but not necessarily) actively pursuing a career in real estate and studying real estate, finance, architecture, planning, urban design or other disciplines related to land use.

• Commitment to the principles of ULI
• Leadership potential
• Commitment to and/or advancement of ULI’s diversity, equity and inclusion goals
• Academic standing
Students may apply for additional years as an Etkin Scholar if they continue to meet the program qualifications.
Eligible applicants will be current undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the affiliated universities in the real estate, construction management, architecture, planning, finance, business, or other fields related to real estate and land use.
The application process for the 2024-25 school year is now closed!
Deadline to submit applications was Monday, October 7, 2024, 11:59 pm EST / 8:59pm PST.
